TERRORIST GROUP PLOTTING POTLUCK!

Thanks for coming and showing interest 8D I really hope you guys get satisfaction and joy from being a part of this plot! I'm really excited by the huge number of characters, not to mention variety! VERY EXCITED FOR THIS PLOT, YEW GAIZ. So here's the rundown:

- Ultimately, the group will NOT succeed. There may be one or two "victories", but as both factions have much yet to offer in way of gameplot, the Newcomers' terrorist group will lose. Therefore, this is more a plot with focus on character development, rifts within the Newcomer community, creating new character relations (or straining pre-existing ones!), any other unforeseen consequences, and whatever ends it may contribute to the gameplot.

- As of yet, the idea is for the group to NOT keep a public face. That is to say, there will likely not be a group name, they will not publicly claim responsibility for their acts of terrorism, and will not make a list of demands or any such thing. It will simply be attempting to destroy strategic locations in order to weaken the companies and their power over the city and its people. (or, that's the intent, anyway.) If you think there's good reason for them to have public face, feel free to argue your case and we will all decide.
Obviously, this group is secret and rule of thumb is that your characters are keeping their membership to it secret as well - unless it comes up as possible plot ;)

- This plot is to be stretched out over SEVERAL MONTHS, with there only being a handful of incidents, working alongside undisclosed gameplot. We will be working closely with the mods to coincide with game events. WE DEFER TO THE MODS AND THE GAMEPLOT. of course, Aaron is marvelous and is more than happy to find ways to compromise or integrate player plot into things, which is why this will always be an OPEN DISCUSSION plot and there must be CONSTANT COMMUNICATION between ourselves and with the mods.

- Though I came up with this plot and am organizing it, I do not consider it "mine". I want this to be OUR plot, one where we all work together and where everyone gets a moment in the spotlight (as much as feasibly possible). That said, this is a DIPLOMATIC plot and we must all be communicating with each other. I don't consider this "my" plot, but please keep me up to date on things since I am the one organizing it, in any case.

- BE RESPECTFUL OF THE MODS, GAMEPLOT, AND OUR OWN MINI-PLOTS WITHIN THE OVERARCHING ONE. Communication, as difficult as it is for most RPers, is vital to the success of this plot, especially with how many muns and characters we're going to have flying around. If you don't agree with something, SAY SO! You may have a legitimate concern that we didn't see, there may be a way to compromise, etc etc. I want everyone to be attended to and be satisfied as much as feasibly possible.

IDEAS SO FAR:

- first explosion a "success", but many innocents caught in the blast

- kidnapping of SERO and/or AGI employees in order to "interrogate" for information? (NPCs or willing player characters???)

- their successes and failures need to reinforce that the City NEEDS the factions more than it admits/realizes, which could lead to more hatred directed towards the group

QUESTIONS TO THROW AROUND:

- though we will probably wait to decide until it's closer to closing time (seeing as the game environment at the time might provide better opportunity/ideas), what are possibilities for the dissolution of the group? too much discord within the group itself? other Newcomers rallying against them? getting caught by the companies? someone within the group rats everyone out?

- what are your goals as a player for your character being in the group? what development will they undergo? how will they be affected by probably killing innocent people, or the negative reaction of the other Newcomers?

- what are your predictions for what your character will do during their time in the group? agree or disagree with trying to keep innocent bystanders out of the way? try to establish themselves as leader?

for my part, I want Naruto to turn into an ASSHOLE. when that first bomb goes off and a lot of innocent people are killed, he will turn inwards, becoming surly and reclusive towards even his closest friends.

I would LOVE for him to go apeshit and unnecessarily beat the shit out of an AGI or SERO employee. basically just rage and not be able to stop himself.

when the group is finally exposed and his friends and family confront him on his behavior and involvement, the shame and guilt will eat him alive. it will be glorious.

The moment innocent people get hurt, Akira would also lose all confidence in this venture, and probably rub it in worse.

So Sammy summed it up pretty much perfectly. I'm here and I can work on permissions and contribute ideas of how to connect this with worldplot for whatever comes up - the mod team in general were all pretty excited about the prospect of shaking things up, and I certainly am too.

So first off - thank you guys for being proactive and exciting and willing to dig your fingers into world plot. The ideas for this and how it's going to work thus far have fallen nicely in line with the plot thread we had in mind for the game in general, which was set to start soon, so we'll definitely be working with you guys and you'll have an opportunity to probably affect the game world itself. :)

On a more personal level, I'm interested in tossing in Claire as a target or as a participant. He's a prominent AGI affiliate and owns a slave club, and I'm cool with him being on either side of this plot.

Aaron, whenever you can, without giving too much away - just throw us a timeline for us to work with \o and then we'll wrestle with any plans of incidents we have, and if that should come before or after the game incident, etc

Heee. I am so excited. And would like to know if it's okay for Gabe to mess with AGI a bit- just some tasty non-fatal just desserts for whoever was involved in the Sirius and Jack fiasco. I AM UP FOR CONSEQUENCES, and if that's not kosher, I'm cool with it. But I wanted to see if it was okay. /pounces around excitedly yey gameplot!

I'm totally cool with a yes or no answer (and, really, I can work it out later, if necessary) but would it be possible for that witch that Jubes left alive be a part of this? Just because I'm a selfish, selfish person and want Jubilee messed with. <3

Jet, Joe and possibly Jinx were planning a strike on SERO's new arcade? Some kind of sabotage, although....this is kind of a juvenile attempt and I'm not sure what they'll really contribute by it besides getting officially flung out on their asses and/or fined for damaging arcade machines.

Pfffffffffft. Oh, Joe :'| If Naruto hears about it, he'll extend an invite to the group?

HAHAHAHA. This is going to be awesome and will enjoy stalking this plot.

AND... For contribution/CR, Gabriel probably won't be actively involved with the terrorists themselves, buuut he might, every now and then, when he feels the need, start working his Trickster magic on either of the companies and I want to make sure (A. That doesn't mess with anything you guys have planned and (B. Is... Okay with the mods, et. al.

He won't be something he does ALL THE TIME- like, for example, he has the opportunity right now to inflict a good trick on AGI if at all possible, thanks to the debacle with Sirius and Jack. And should that get the go-ahead, he won't do it again for awhile- just when the opportunity for some poetic justice arises, which could easily just... Springboard back on the terrorists and get them blamed for something they didn't do/complicate matters further/IDK Bueller?. Beyond that... Unless either side puts A LOT of Nulls/Voids in play and want to retaliate for anything he does (WHICH I WOULD LOVE), I'd rather keep him out of things, since LOL CAPTAIN GODMOD IS A GODMOD. But knocking him down if he does try to spice up the terrorism with a few acts of just desserts? A-okay with me.

oh my goooooooooood I LOVE this idea. I'm not entirely coherent at the moment but I'm hoping sitting on this thought will bring up how to use this. if nothing else, we can pow-wow and figure something out, or maybe the opportune moment will present itself :D

OKAY Let's light this candle. Griffin here is pretty damn good at making homemade bombs. Also, he's a teleporter. As such, I imagine he would be an important ingredient to the group.

I think he would join up with them because he would count on them to know more about the actual factions themselves. But Griffin is not a team player in any sense. So depending on who he meets, he could go in one of two very separate directions. Either he'll just remain an asshole and do whatever the fuck he wants and screw you people. Or, if he finds someone in the group he really trusts, it'll tether him down greatly and he's be distinctively less of a dilhole. I am open to either.

As far as killing innocents go, Griffin kind of won't give a flying fuck. Greater good, you know. He might feel sort of bad, but that would be purely private. If it comes up in the group, he'll be like "Forget them, we did what we had to; they could have been bent anyway" and so on. He wouldn't be a leader, per se, but he will have a LOT to say on how they should do things. After all, combating huge evil corporations is kind of his thing. Disagreement with others will be inevitable and he isn't one to back away from an argument.

And he's not above torture to get information.

for my part, I'm willing to let Griffin loose or get leashed? (drama and opportunities, yay!) though depending on the consequences of his actions for either option and how those would affect gameplot, we'd have to tweak and see. EVERYTHING RESTS ON AARON.

Well, I don't know that Yoruichi would be directly involved with a lot of the actual activities of the group . . . but she is kinda working for SERO right now in an undercover capacity. (Or she will be, once I figure out what her job is going to be once she's affiliated.) She'd probably be able to find out and leak the occasional bit of intel on certain areas/events. Any active association with the group could blow her cover, and that's not something she wants.

She recognizes that the companies to have their role to fill, even as corrupt as they are, so she wouldn't be down with everything that the group goes for. Oh, she wants the companies taken down, but it's got to be a more gradual thing in her mind if changes are going to last.

In any case, the fact that she's affiliated could cause some conflict and trust issues in the group, I'd imagine. I mean, she's not exactly planning on advertising her affiliation, but some of the group would know/find out about it.

WELL that kinda works though \o/ she could act as informant and her established training routine with Naruto could be a very nice cover for passing off information? just an idea 8)

If Joker even takes part...I can't say what he would do. Insane Clown variable dictates that I never know.

Buuut, I am sure he'd play along only to derail some of the operation at some point. He could really do just about anything from drop the group to like... attempt to murder one of the company CEOs (good luck, clown).

oh lord, I would love for Joker to get involved 8D I have no idea about limits without doing really close talk with the mods; what the goals of their gameplot would involve, what the consequences of Joker's many possible actions would contribute or hinder them...etc.

It'd be very IC for him to use the opportunity to do something awful to SOMEONE. Buuuuut if it comes to it I am okay with him making the attempt and failing. Like...assassinating a company head cannot possibly be an easy thing to do. As an example.

At the very least, Axel can light fuses. Burn places down, cause explosions, etc...he's makes a damn fine arsonist so any way his powers would be of use to the cause, I'd be all for! He wants to cause some serious chaos to the companies, especially AGI. I'm hoping to get mod permission to have him target some AGI-places on his own too, but definitely would be happy to get him involved in a group effort. I'm otterottergirl on AIM for any talking/planning!

Jubilee's powers lend themselves to explosions, especially if she gets emotionally compromised, because she can and HAS brought roofs down on people's heads before. (Thank you Mandarin and Brawn.)

As for CR... I really kinda want Jubilee kidnapped, eventually. By either faction. SERO/AGI would probably want to get their hands on her.

ALSO a while ago Jubilee was involved with the Claudio rescue from the Hunter. Except, she left her target alive (http://community.livejournal.com/sirenspull_logs/171742.html?thread=5961950#t5961950). Meaning that I would DEARLY love for that witch to get involved and remember Jubes. (If that makes things too convoluted, then I don't mind that getting nixed. I can use it at some other time.)

As for everything else, Jubilee WILL attempt to take over. She's been a teamleader more than once in her life, and she will, eventually, screw up a plan doing something cowboyish. Yuffie would be the first person to try and keep bystanders out and probably would be raising all kinds of complaints if things get too crazy, but she definitely would be in to try and take down all kinds of company peoples. She's got a lot of skills ranging from being head of Intel for the WRO back on Gaia (Thank you, DOC), just plain ninja awesomeness skills, and she can heal (WHICH MIGHT BE HELPFUL SHOULD PEOPLE GET INJURED).

If/when things get too far (and too far for her might take a little while cause LOLFFVIIWORLDSUCKS and she's used to wartime situations) into the 'innocents are getting hurt and people are turning against all newcomers' route she'd try to sabotage any ideas/plans from then on that she knows about from the inside...And I'd be totally cool with people catching her at doing that/getting pissed off at her/any consequences.

First all - this type of plot is RIGHT up Magneto's ally. He's DONE THIS for...decades now.

HOWEVER I can't throw him completely in because that would be BAD. I'm going to say he's too busy with Skye, the NPP, and his own projects.

So, because Jubilee KNOWS Magneto is Michael Xavier - I offer him up for advice, planning, and doctoring should anyone need - if anyone wants him.

I'm still more than willing to put this girl in the middle of trouble. I'm kind of amused that she's sort of shaping up to be an anti-hero so I'd kind of like to expand on that. She's feeling pretty good about saving Ella's life (even if it was sort of by accident >.>), so she'll probably consider expanding onto what she thinks is for the greater good of the citizens of the Port in general (but we all know that her logic is often pretty fail).

Although LB is pretty fucking hax when she's in her Beast suit (I'll tl;dr up this thing even more if I explain all of the features, so I'll just link you here (http://sirenspull.wikia.com/wiki/Laughing_Beauty#DORMANT_POWER_-_Transforming_into_Beast_Suit) instead), she has yet to gain the ability to control it on and off to her liking. Currently, she can only change if her life is being threatened, but within the next month or so, the power will expand onto when she's afraid.

However, her hidden sadistic nature becomes more prevalent within her Beast state of mind. She's canonly a master of stealth, so it's not like she'd blow anyone's cover (she's more likely to hide herself and pick off targets when they get close to her), but she'd definitely go too far with a target if it's the desire to keep them alive. Hell, even in her normal state of mind, she'll probably be pretty likely to suggest that if a person's been bringing harm to others, they should be dead. So basically? This woman has a deceiving amount of power (NO ONE EVER SUSPECTS THE TIMID GIRL IS SECRETLY A TOOL OF WAR), but she'd definitely have to be a wildcard, because she can't be trusted to stay sane in highly dangerous situations.

The whole innocent killing business might make her feel a LITTLE bad if she's in her normal form, but she'll prooobably figure that a few deaths isn't a big deal when it comes to ensuring that everyone else will live better. She's got a fucked up way of thinking, okay. And she'd be confused by why others would think negatively of their actions, but she's pretty damned used to people thinking negatively of her actions anyway. She'll just...secretly woobie over it.

She's definitely not a leader type, so no worries about her trying to take control over it. The chances are though is that she'll only take direct orders from people she trusts...which aren't many of the fighter types, I'm afraid. She'll most likely improvise on what works best for her. 8|

Oh, I should also add that she'll likely try to hide the Octopus/Beast side of herself as I think Alex is the ONLY person in the city that knows about that aspect of her. Even without the suit, she's got military training so she can march into a place and shoot shit up and...hug/straddle people to death. Seriously.

But yeah. Chances are that she's going to be outed, and that's cool with me. I'd also be down with her getting caught/injured at some point.

Ahh, I must've zoned out and missed the initial post to this, but uh! I hope you guys don't mind me throwing in some late cents. )x;;

Anyhow! What I have to offer:

Allen, as an attacker and... possible future strife-bringer to the team. He's good at keeping secrets, but he has an extreme issue with people being killed or needlessly harmed, and if other characters begin to do that without double-thinking, he may turn into a rat to the police at large. And I'd kind of like to see him buckle a bit under the reality that for one, not everybody can be saved, and for two, this is a terrorist group why are you trying to save people with it. That wouldn't be without significant numbers dying/being abused, though.

He'd be willing to work with anyone, would try to follow instructions to the letter, be very dedicated to The Cause and to remaining as an anonymous group. He works best in a small team, just because he's kind of skittish about showing off his powers. May impede characters who are more violent, and those relations are always kinda fun, but otherwise believes in getting a job done and getting out of it.

Theeen I've got Shiroe, who's a SERO employee-- but also one of the holders of the newcomer network. It functions like the NV network, only it's secured against the companies, ssso it'd probably be a great thing to use during the plot's undergoing? :3 Shiroe'd be willing to key a rebel group in, and may drop hints about SERO's weak points if... the terrorist group really starts to work (or if someone gets his trust), but he'd probably keep to the digital shadows outside outside of that.

No complaints from him about killing or torturing. A warning that he may try to instigate bad feelings in the group if things start going south. :x

He doesn't have control over what the other holder decides to do, though (and the other holder is Kei Yuki, I believe? If you still want her to be part of it, Elle!), so this offer may just lead to unnecessary antagonism.

If that's acceptable? askgjnjk mostly just because Shiroe's got some major keys to that network and it should really... stop being under his control.

Pulling Soul out of this idea buuuuut;

Snow used to be in a vigilante group back home, its leader in fact. He hasn't been in Siren's Port for very long, but he already doesn't like the two companies, and more or less wants to make sure none of his teammates or future waifu will be experimented on due to their being l'Cie. He knows from experience that innocents can get caught up in these things, and he already carries huge baggage with him due to what happened on their last gig before the main storyline (sorry Hope!). He'll probably try to keep that from happening again, and try to offer what advice he can to you eager kidlets to keep you from getting in over your head.

He can work with pretty much anyone, even people who he's never met before. Comes with Snow's nature; in reality, he's really just a big goof on the inside who shoulders way too much responsibility. He's a tank that can take pretty much any damage and get back up so he'd be great on the front line. None of that sneaking around crap, he's much better with full-frontal assault.

Of course, this will be kept as much of a secret as it can from his family ~~shut up, they might as well have taken on the Oerba name~~, especially Serah. Oh the guilt that will eat away at him once he's found out.

even if he just offers advice, it'd be great to have him involved \o/

Jet is laying down the groundwork to start a gang and so on. Considering the Freedom Fighters were, at their worst, a bunch of looters, they'll probably be doing a lot of robbing of AGI and SERO business to build up their own supplies and strength as well as this venture with video arcade.

If Jet were to join the terrorist group, I think he would find himself at odds - not only in the "too many chefs in the kitchen" sense but because he has committed acts of terrorism that he's come to regret to some capacity. I think he would probably try and talk Naruto out of it - if you wanted to go that direction, they could possibly have a violent falling out over it. They're both hotheads, after all.

Regardless of whether or not Jet became involved in the terrorism, I think it'd be interesting/fun to have the Freedom Fighters (IE Jet's personal gang of recruits) take the rap for it even if they as a group weren't responsible - because they are a group that can be named.

Oh man this sounds like such a fabulous idea. These kinds of things are right up 17's alley. Not listening to other people or taking order, but the mischief aspect! If he gets word of this, the only part of the plan I need to figure out really, then he's definitely in.

And, uh, 17 can fly and shoot beams out of his hands and is stupid strong being a cybernetic being instead of a human. He doesn't need to sleep, he doesn't need to eat, BUT he is an asshole. Sorry. :C Can't be perfect!

Naruto's just going to be putting out the call over the network in a few days, asking if anyone else is sick of sitting around and wanting to DO something about the companies. after that, I'm thinking we'll have mass action logs with tons of threadjacking and such for the ~*secret meetings*~ and whatnot.
